Moa Moa Pasta Club: Worth a Second Visit?

I finally paid a visit to Moa Moa Pasta Club, a spot that has been popping up quite a lot on my feed lately, especially among pasta lovers. With expectations already set fairly high, I went in ready to explore a mix of starters, mains, desserts, and drinks. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience.

First impressions & overall vibe

The space feels cozy and modern without being intimidating. It’s the kind of place that works for both a casual dinner with friends and a slightly more “special” meal if you’re craving comfort Italian food done with a bit of flair. The menu leans heavily into pasta (as expected), but there are enough non-pasta options to keep things interesting.

Service-wise, everything felt smooth and attentive. Staff were open to feedback and clearly cared about the dining experience, which I always appreciate.

What we ordered & honest thoughts

Carpaccio

This was probably the most “surprising” dish of the night. The flavor itself was interesting and quite enjoyable, but a small tip from personal experience: tear the beef into smaller pieces before eating. Trust me, you don’t want to accidentally swallow a whole slice like I almost did 😅. Once eaten properly, it’s a fun and refreshing starter.

Focaccia – 8.5/10

A very solid bread option. Soft inside, nicely baked on the outside, and overall just comforting. Not much to complain about here. It’s one of those dishes that quietly does its job well and makes you want more before the mains arrive.

Gnocchi

This one comes down to personal preference. I’m not very used to gnocchi, so the texture didn’t really work for me. That said, my friend genuinely enjoyed it and thought it was tasty. If you’re new to gnocchi, I’d recommend reading up a bit on the texture and style before ordering so you know what to expect.

Bisque Granchio

This was the dish I had the highest expectations for, and unfortunately, the biggest shock. The bisque sauce itself was actually good, with a clear shrimp-and-crab freshness that felt well-made. However, the fresh pasta was extremely salty, to the point where it overpowered the sauce completely. Instead of complementing each other, the pasta and sauce kind of cancelled out the flavors. I did give feedback to the restaurant, and they were receptive, so I’m hoping this was just an off day.

Condone (steak)

A highlight of the meal for me. Ordered medium rare, the steak had nicely seared edges, adding a subtle smoky note that really elevated the dish. The beef was satisfying, and the sides worked well alongside it. This is one of those “safe but well-executed” choices that I’d happily reorder.

Desserts & drinks

Tiramisu & Mousse

Both desserts scored enough points to make me want to come back. The chocolate mousse paired with orange was especially impressive — rich, balanced, and surprisingly refreshing. A great way to end the meal.

Drinks (mocktails & cocktails)

Drinks were consistently good across the board. Whether you’re going for mocktails or cocktails, it’s easy for everyone at the table to find something enjoyable. Nothing overly flashy, just well-balanced and pleasant.

Final thoughts

Overall, Moa Moa Pasta Club is a place I’d return to. Despite the hiccup with the overly salty pasta, the menu has a lot of interesting pasta options that I still want to explore. The good dishes definitely outweigh the misses, and the fact that the team is open to feedback makes me optimistic for future visits.

I’m hoping that next time, the pasta hits the right balance because if that issue is fixed, this could easily become a regular spot for comfort Italian food with character. 🙏
